KARACHI: Sindh Government has imposed ban on the carrying and display of weapons across the Sindh province.
The Sindh Home Department has issued a notification in this regard. The Sindh government has imposed a ban on the carrying and display of weapons across the province.
According to the notification issued by the government, a ban has been imposed on carrying arms across Sindh for three months. This ban will be applied immediately.
The order stated that there will be a ban on the display of weapons while the SHOs of all police stations have been directed to register cases against those violating the ban.
It has been said in the order that police, rangers, and law enforcement agencies will be exempted from this order.
The notification further stated that the ban will not apply to police and registered security company guards during duty hours.
Earlier, a large number of weapons were recovered in Karachi, foiling a major terrorist plan.
Weapons buried in the ground near Gulshan e Hadeed Link Road in Karachi were recovered in huge quantity, including 30-bore pistols and shotguns.
In this regard, SSP Malir Hasan Sardar Niazi said that the weapons were found in six sacks containing 64 short guns.
SSP Malir said that 16 pistols, a metal detector, and a wireless Metrola set have also been found.
The investigation is underway.
