GUJRANWALA: An antiterrorism court in Gujranwala has issued non-bailable arrest warrant for Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah on Tuesday, Bol News reported.

The court has directed police to arrest Rana Sanaullah and produce him before the court on March 28.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) leader Farrukh Habib confirmed that the antiterrorism court has issued non-bailable arrest warrant for Rana Sanaullah. He dared the inspector generals of Punjab and Islamabad to have courage, arrest Rana Sanaullah and produce him before the court.

“Now come on TV and say that you will implement the court order by arresting Rana Sanaullah,” he said.

On March 6, the Lahore High Court (LHC) had dismissed the intra-court appeal against Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, Bol News reported.

The appeal was filed by Advocate Shahid Rana for Rana Sanaullah’s leaking audio conversation between former Punjab chief minister Parvez Elahi and president Supreme Court Bar. He had said the interior minister had tried to scandalize judiciary by leaking the call. “He put the legal circles in frenzy by affecting privacy of the lawyer and client,” he had said adding that every person was trying to make the judiciary controversial.

The LHC had said the authority for suo moto notice in his case was with the Supreme Court. It had said nothing affected the courts. Justice Ali Baqar Najfi had said such an issue was brought before the court for which no reply was received. He had said, “I would like to give you a free advice. Take this application to the Supreme Court.”
