Govt allocates over Rs78 billion for Benazir Kafalat program: Shazia Marri
ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety Shazia Marri Saturday said that the government has allocated an amount of more than 78 billion for the next installment of the Benazir Kafalat program while the annual budget for the program is 252 billion rupees.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony of Benazir Dynamic Registry Center under the Benazir Income Support Program in Khangarh, she informed that so far 872,000 surveys have been completed in Benazir Dynamic Registry Centers.
“Six Dynamic Registry Centers have been set up in Muzaffargarh district while currently, more than 321,000 families in Muzaffargarh district are being given scholarships under the Benazir Income Support Program,” she stated.
On January 28, Minister for Poverty Alleviation Shazia Marri had inaugurated Benazir Nashonuma Centre in Karachi.
The centre had been set up under Benazir Income Support Programme office at Pir Ilahi Bux Colony.
Speaking to media on the occasion, she had said under the programme, healthy food would be provided to mother and child to address the issue of stunted growth of the children.
Shazia Marri had said at present, this facility was available in 139 districts which will be further expanded across the country.
The federal minister had said the federal government had not ignored any province. She said they are contacting every provincial government and Sindh government was cooperating with them.
