ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police has made a plan to arrest Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan upon arrival in the federal capital next, Bol News reported citing sources.

The PTI chief is expected is expected to arrive in Islamabad to extend his protective bail from the Islamabad High Court. The court had approved bail till March 9 and instructed him to appear at the next hearing.

Police has formed a special team after receiving directives from Inspector-General Islamabad Dr Akbar Nasir. According to the plan, police will arrest Imran Khan as soon as he enters Islamabad on March 9, sources revealed.

Two new cases has been registered against Imran Khan in Ramna police station in Islamabad on March 2.  Police have issued instructions to Station House Officers (SHOs) of all police stations in Islamabad to prepare a list of PTI workers so that action can be taken against them.

On Sunday, Islamabad Police showed up at Imran Khan’s Zaman Park residence in Lahore with court summons to take him into custody for his absences from Toshakhana court hearings.

Police found a large number of PTI supporters along with party leaders and were informed that the PTI chairman was not present. Police left Imran’s residence at 1.30PM despite insisting on arresting him.

In a series of tweets, Islamabad Police said an operation to arrest Imran was being conducted with the cooperation of the Lahore police.

It stated that the PTI chief was “avoiding” the arrest and the superintendent of police had “gone into Imran’s room but he was not present there”.

“Islamabad Police will transfer Imran Khan to Islamabad under their protection. Law is equal for all,” police said.

It added that legal action would be taken against those obstructing the execution of court orders. Police said action will be taken against PTI’s Shibli Faraz for misguiding on Imran’s arrest.

IG Islamabad Akbar Nasir separately said that the police delivered the court’s notice to Imran Khan and confirmed that it been received.

He expressed adamant and said both Islamabad and Lahore’s police teams were present outside the ex-premier’s house and would not leave without arresting him.

He said police’s job is implementing court orders and maintaining the law and order situation.

Shibli Faraz received the summons and wrote on the document “Chairman Imran Khan is not available however we will comply with all legal processes”.
