RAWALPINDI: The 6th International Pakistan Army Team Spirit (PATS) Competition 2023 of the Pakistan Army kicked off on Tuesday.

The opening ceremony was held at National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC) in Pabbi. General Officer Commanding 37 Division was the Chief Guest at the occasion.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), as many as seven Pakistan Army teams and ten international teams from Bahrain, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Uzbekistan, Thailand, Jordan, USA, Iraq, Kazakhstan and Qatar are participating in the competition.

Three observer countries, Azerbaijan, Myanmar, and Nigeria are also part of the PATS 2023. The 60 hours long rigorous competition will continue from March 7 – 9.

The competition is based on evaluating physical endurance, mental agility and tactical proficiency of the combat teams, said the military’s press wing.

The ISPR said over the years, competition has gained much popularity & has become an international PATS competition which provides opportunity to participating teams to learn and share experiences with one and other particularly from Pak Army’s experience of fight against terrorism.

Last year, as many as eight Pakistan Army and eight international teams including Jordan, Morocco, Nepal, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Kenya, Saudi Arabia and Sri Lanka participated in the competition held at (NCTC) Pabbi.
