Amount of fines increases for violating traffic rules in Karachi
The Karachi Traffic Police has increased the amount of fines for violating traffic rules in Karachi, Bol News reported.
The sources within the traffic police confirm that the increase in the traffic challan amount has been approved, and the new fines will be applied from November 1.
A motorcyclist who does not wear a helmet will have to pay a fine of Rs 500, while a car driver who violates a one-way road will have to pay a fine of Rs 3000.
Additionally, a motorcyclist will have to pay Rs 600, while a car driver will have to pay Rs 800 for not lighting their headlights.
The traffic police officials further say that for violating the signal, both motorcyclists and car drivers will have to pay 500 rupees.
Moreover, a motorcyclist without a driving license will pay Rs 1,000, while a car driver will pay Rs 1,500.
In addition to that, an underage motorcyclist will pay a fine of Rs 1,500, while a car driver will pay a fine of Rs 2,000.
However, in this regard, a person who continues to violate traffic rules will pay a fine of two and a half to three thousand rupees.
Earlier, traffic police have tightened the rules to enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) to control the spread of coronavirus pandemic.
