The Pakistan International Airline (PIA) and Pakistan State Oil (PSO) on Saturday reached an agreement to cater the issue of halted flight operation.
The PIA Spokesman stated that in the coming few days, the fuel supply will start increasing gradually.
Added that the flight operation will also come to normal once the fuel shortage ends.
The spokesperson further stated that PSO’s top management played a pivotal role in facilitating this agreement.
The Pakistan State Oil (PSO) has shown its support for PIA by increasing the airline’s credit limit by an additional Rs5 billion.
This financial assistance is viewed as a significant move to bolster the national carrier’s activities.
PSO has given its assurance of supplying daily fuel worth Rs10 billion to ensure the smooth running of PIA’s flights.
This development comes after the Economic Coordination Committee of the Cabinet had previously approved an Rs8 billion bailout package for PIA.
PIA has already availed itself of a Rs15 billion credit line, but this latest agreement underscores a renewed commitment to rejuvenating and sustaining the airline’s operations.
