The Official Secrets Act Court in Islamabad announced the verdict on PTI Chairman Imran Khan and Shah Mahmood Qureshi production before court, stating that the case will be heard in Adiala Jail on December 1; due to security concerns.

The court in its verdict stated that the jail authorities and security agencies have expressed security concerns to PTI chairman’s life.

Following which the case against PTI leaders will be heard in an open court in the Adiala jail, where the presence of five family members, media and public will also be allowed.

The Official Secrets Act Court judge Abul Hasanat Zulqarnain had reserved its verdict on the production of PTI Chairman Imran Khan and Qureshi before the court today in the cipher case, after the Adiala Jail administration had expressed security threats to PTO chief’s life.

In todays hearing, the court witnessed the presence of Chairman PTI’s lawyer, Salman Safdar, along with FIA Prosecutors Shah Khawar and Zulfiqar Abbas Naqvi.

Salman Safdar expressed reservations about the rapid pace of the proceedings and noted the absence of chairman PTI, hoping for his production.

However, the Adiala Jail Superintendent submitted a report, citing life threats to PTI chairman, and excused himself from presenting the Imran Khan.

Zulqarnain reviewed the report, which included information from sensitive institutions and the police regarding threats to Chairman PTI’s life.

The Jail Superintendent’s written excuse was read, leading to discussions about the nullification of the jail hearing by the Islamabad High Court.

Salman Safdar highlighted the challenges faced during the trial and questioned the urgency of the proceedings.

He emphasized the need for a fair trial location, considering security threats and potential obstacles in transporting the accused from jail to court.

Salman Safdar called for decisive action against the Jail Superintendent or his resignation and urged a decision by 2 PM on whether Imran Khan and Shah Mehmood Qureshi would be presented in court.

Following which the court reserved its decision on this matter, leaving uncertainty about the appearance of the PTI leaders.
