The Ministry of Law on Wednesday issued a notification directing the Accountability Court to proceed with the trial of PTI Chairman Imran Khan in the Toshakhana and £190 million scam cases.

The notification specifically outlines the cases to be heard, emphasizing the accountability proceedings in Adiala Jail.

This move marks a notable step in the legal proceedings against Imran Khan, setting the stage for the trial to unfold within the confines of Adiala Jail.

Yesterday, PTI lawyer Sher Afzal Marwat has said that Imran Khan will not contest the long-awaited intra-party elections, which are mandated by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to be completed by December 13.

Marwat, speaking to the media confirmed it and said that Khan’s decision not to contest is influenced by his conviction in the Toshakhana case, for which he was sentenced to three years in prison by an Islamabad trial court in August.
