Caretaker Minister assures timely elections, expresses confidence in Election Commission

Islamabad: Caretaker Information and Broadcasting Minister Murtaza Solangi has said that general elections will be held at the scheduled time, and he has full confidence in the Election Commission.

The Caretaker Federal Minister told the media that the Interim Government is not supporting any candidate or party during its constitutional period.

He said that I cannot comment on the internal problems of political parties; we have to maintain cordial relations with all parties.

The caretaker information minister added that the government has no intention of using force against the protesters who have been camping outside the Islamabad Press Club for the past 23 days.

Murtaza Solangi said that media channels initially give feasibility to PEMRA, journalists have job protection under the PEMRA Act, and legal measures will be taken to protect the employment of journalists.

He further said that an unpleasant situation has arisen regarding Baloch protesters; the demands of the protesters from Balochistan are long-standing; women and children have been released; and most of the men have also been released.

The caretaker information minister added that the committee is doing its work. At this time, the governor is coming from Balochistan, and today there is a meeting of this committee with the Prime Minister. Security is being provided to the women and children who have come from Balochistan.
