Latest weather update today Islamabad, Pakistan

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast mainly cold and dry weather for Islamabad, Rawalpindi and most parts of Pakistan during the next two days.

According to the current weather conditions, most areas of Pakistan are experiencing the influence of continental air.

In these conditions, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and most parts of Pakistan are expected to have mainly cold and dry weather on Wednesday evening/night, Thursday, and Friday.

The northern regions of the country anticipate freezing and partly cloudy conditions. Dense fog/smog is likely to persist in the plains of Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, and upper Sindh.

The Potohar region and Kashmir may experience frost during the morning hours. Islamabad is expected to have a minimum temperature of 00-02 degrees Celsius on Thursday and 01-03 degrees Celsius on Friday.

Similarly, Rawalpindi’s minimum temperature is projected to range between 01-03 degrees Celsius on Thursday and 02-04 degrees Celsius on Friday.

Meanwhile, cold and dry weather prevailed in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and most parts of the country during the last 24 hours.

Extremely cold weather prevailed in northern areas.

Leh recorded the lowest temperature in the country, with the mercury falling to 9 degrees Celsius below freezing.

In Islamabad, the minimum temperature was recorded at 01 C.

Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 91 per cent.

In Rawalpindi, the minimum temperature was recorded at 02 C.

Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 72 percent.

Heavy fog and smog led to the shutdown of motorways and caused traffic disruptions on the National Highway.
