Islamabad – The Utility Stores Corporation has declared a Rs7.49 billion Ramzan relief package for 2024 as the sacred month approaches.

The announcement follows the approval of the package by the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) to aid people during the fasting month.

A Utility Stores spokesperson stated that subsidies would be provided for 19 essential commodities.

What Items are Included in Ramzan Relief Package?

The relief package includes discounted prices for essential items such as flour, sugar, ghee, cooking oil, rice, pulses, dates, milk, gram flour, beverages, and other goods.

Authorities mentioned that families enrolled in the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) are entitled to receive targeted subsidies provided through the relief package.

They indicated that special discounted rates would also be extended to regular customers during the holy month of Ramzan.

As Muslims, both in Pakistan and worldwide, prepare to welcome the holy month of Ramadan in 2024, astronomy experts have forecasted the dates for its beginning.

Experts have forecasted that the first day of Ramadan 2024 will likely be observed on March 11 (Monday). However, the final decision regarding the start of the holy month will be made by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee following the sighting of the moon.
