In Dubai, Eid-ul Fitr is a significant Islamic festival celebrated after a month of fasting, and now there is anticipation for an extended break.
This year, residents of the United Arab Emirates are set to enjoy a nine-day Eid holiday, potentially extending from April 8 onward. Individuals in the Emirates will be able to participate in the main event without needing to request annual leave.
The ongoing holy month of Ramadan typically spans either 29 or 30 days, with the exact dates determined by moon sightings. Eid marks the beginning of the 10th Islamic month, Shawwal, and is celebrated accordingly.
If Ramadan lasts for 30 days, the Eid 2024 holidays will extend from April 8 to April 12, encompassing two weekends. In the event of a 29-day Ramadan, the break will span from April 8 to April 11, also including weekends, providing a total of nine days off.
The Eidul Fitr break lasts for five days, beginning after a weekend and concluding before the second weekend. Consequently, residents of the UAE can enjoy nine consecutive days off from work, spanning from April 6 to April 14.
In Pakistan, the situation differs from that in Gulf nations. In the Asian nation, the first day of the annual event is anticipated to fall on April 10 or 11. Following this, the next two days, April 13 and 14, coincide with the weekend, allowing people to potentially enjoy a five-day Eid holiday.
If individuals choose to extend their Eid break by incorporating Monday and Tuesday, they would likewise be able to relish a nine-day Eid holiday, similar to the UAE.
