Lahore’s Excise, Taxation, and Narcotics Control Department have started a new mobile vehicle registration service to make the registration process easier. Instead of going to government offices, people can now register their vehicles from the comfort of their homes.
The service began operating on March 19th at Bagh-e-Jinnah Quaid-e-Azam Library parking lot, and will continue at other locations like Liberty Chowk Gulberg, Fortress Stadium Lahore Cantt, and Johar Town Maulana Shaukat Ali Road Car Market on subsequent days.
The department is also working with the Punjab Motors Dealers Association to highlight the importance of timely vehicle registration and transfer, directing to ensure people follow the law and avoid fines.
This initiative shortens the vehicle registration process, saving residents from waiting in long lines at government offices.
The mobile registration service is a big step forward in refining the lives of Lahore’s residents, showing the government’s devotion to meeting people’s needs.
In January 2024, the Punjab Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Department introduced a digital registration card for vehicles. This move addresses the problem of late registration cards, which often led to fines from traffic police. The launch of this digital card and mobile service aims to solve this issue for vehicle owners in Punjab.
