The Deputy Commissioner of Rawalpindi, Dr. Hassan Waqar Cheema, has declared multiple public holidays in the garrison city in honor of Pakistan Day Parade on March 23rd.

In an official announcement made on Wednesday, the district administration has declared local holidays on Thursday and Friday, extending the weekend with Saturday and Sunday, resulting in a total of four holidays.

It’s worth noting that March 23rd has already been designated as a public holiday by the Cabinet Division for the current year.

This implies that Rawalpindi residents will enjoy a four-day break starting from tomorrow until Monday. However, the notification clarified that the SSC-I Annual Examination of BISE Rawalpindi will not be affected.

Prior to this, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) had announced the closure of all hiking trails to the public in observance of March 23rd (Parade Day).

According to the notification, trail number 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 will be off-limits to the public from March 19th to March 23rd, between 5 am to 5 pm due to Parade preparations.

The CDA has urged the public to adhere to this decision to prevent any inconvenience during these days. Access to these trails will be reinstated following Parade Day, as per the CDA’s statement.
