Lahore: Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) stalwart Hamza Shehbaz Sharif says that the government is trying to revive the economy in collaboration with allied parties.
Talking to media representatives in Lahore, Hamza Shehbaz said that the government has just been established, it is too early to say about its performance, and the situation will improve in the coming time.
Hamza Shehbaz was asked by a journalist: You have not taken any ministry in the federal government; do you have your eyes on Punjab?
In this regard, Hamza Shahbaz Sharif replied, My eyes are towards the sky.
Earlier, the PML-N secured nine out of twelve Senate seats from Punjab in the recent elections. These elections covered two seats each for women and technocrats, as well as one for minority representation. Notably, seven candidates had already been declared winners unopposed.
In the contest for the two technocrat seats, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb and Petroleum Minister Musadiq Malik emerged victorious with 128 and 121 votes respectively.
PML-N candidates Anusha Rehman and Bushra Anjum clinched the two women’s seats in Punjab, while Yasmeen Rashid and Sanam Javed from the Sunni Ittehad Council received 106 and 102 votes respectively.
Tahir Khalil Sindhu of the PML-N secured the minority seat.
