Heavy rain, hailstorm likely in Islamabad, parts of Pakistan

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) reports the prevalence of a westerly wave over much of Balochistan, expected to extend its influence to the upper regions of Pakistan by Thursday.

Consequently, Balochistan is expected to witness more rain, wind, and thunderstorms on Wednesday evening and night, with heavy falls and hailstorms expected in some areas. Additionally, southern Punjab and Sindh may experience rain, wind, and thunderstorms in a few places.

On Thursday and Friday, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Punjab, Balochistan, and upper/southwest Sindh are expected to experience rain, wind, and thunderstorms, with a few heavy falls and hailstorms likely.

Islamabad’s maximum temperatures are forecasted to range between 27-29 degrees Celsius on Thursday and 24-26 degrees Celsius on Friday, while Rawalpindi’s maximum temperatures are expected to range between 26-28 degrees Celsius on Thursday and 25-27 degrees Celsius on Friday.

Dry weather was prevalent in most parts of the country over the past 24 hours, although rain, wind, and thunderstorms occurred in Balochistan and upper Sindh.

Mithi remained the hottest place in the country where maximum temperature was recorded at 41 C. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 55 per cent.

In Islamabad, maximum temperature was recorded at 29 C. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 70 percent.

In Rawalpindi, maximum temperature was recorded at 28 C. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 56 percent.
