PM Shehbaz Sharif to visit Egypt for Gaza peace agreement Ceremony
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will leave for Egypt tomorrow to attend the Gaza peace agreement signing ceremony and the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit.
According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, the Prime Minister is visiting Egypt on the special invitation of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and U.S. President Donald Trump. He will represent Pakistan at the event on Monday, October 13, in Sharm El-Sheikh.
A high-level delegation, including the Deputy Prime Minister, key ministers, and senior officials, will accompany him.
The summit is a result of ongoing diplomatic efforts linked to the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly. Leaders are hopeful that the talks will pave the way for lasting peace and stability in the Middle East.
Earlier, on September 23, 2025, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif attended a joint meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump and the heads of seven Arab and Islamic countries Egypt, Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Indonesia, and Türkiye, under the “U.S. Plus 8” format to discuss peace in Gaza.
At Sharm El-Sheikh, global leaders will focus on the post-ceasefire situation in Gaza, plans for reconstruction, and removing barriers to humanitarian aid.
The Foreign Office stated that the Prime Minister’s visit reaffirms Pakistan’s long-standing commitment to the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and reflects the country’s consistent support for lasting peace in the Middle East.
