ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has officially announced the date for local government(LG) elections in Islamabad.
According to the commission, polling will take place on February 15, 2026, with voting scheduled from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
The ECP stated that returning officers will issue public notices for nomination papers on December 19, while nomination papers can be submitted from December 22 to 27.
As per the election schedule, scrutiny of nomination papers will be carried out from December 30 to January 3, 2026.
Appeals against accepted or rejected nominations may be filed between January 5 and 8, while tribunals will decide the appeals from January 9 to 13.
The last date for withdrawal of nomination papers is January 15, followed by the publication of the final list of candidates on January 16, on which election symbols will be allotted.
Polling for the Islamabad local government elections will be held on February 15, while compilation of results will continue from February 16 to 19.
