ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s changing security landscape took center stage as more than 6,150 students participating in the Inter-Services Public Relations summer internship program attended a special session with Prof. Dr. Huma Baqai, who discussed national security, regional tensions and the importance of economic stability.
Baqai, rector of the Millennium Institute of Technology and Entrepreneurship, addressed students participating from 21 stations across Pakistan. She spoke about regional developments, India’s role, the situation in Afghanistan and their implications for Pakistan’s security and economy.
She said Pakistan was continuing efforts to strengthen national security and economic stability while supporting peace and stability in the region.
Baqai also alleged that India was using Afghanistan to create challenges for Pakistan and increase terrorism-related threats, contributing to instability in the region.
Referring to the May 2025 conflict between Pakistan and India, Baqai said Pakistan had achieved successes on both the border and air fronts during what she called the “Battle of Truth.”
She said Pakistan had also challenged India’s narrative of being the region’s “net security provider” and the strategic thinking associated with that claim.
Baqai emphasized that Pakistan must protect its national interests and further strengthen national security and economic stability in response to the changing regional environment.
The ISPR summer internship program is being held at 21 stations across Pakistan, with more than 6,150 students participating in the nationwide initiative.
