ISTANBUL: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Istanbul on Friday on a bilateral official visit to Türkiye at the invitation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to strengthen cooperation between the two countries.

Upon arrival at Atatürk Airport, the prime minister was received by Turkish Trade Minister Prof. Dr. Ömer Bolat, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Türkiye Dr. Yousaf Junaid, senior officials of the Turkish Foreign Ministry, and members of the Pakistani diplomatic mission.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Information and Broadcasting Minister Attaullah Tarar are accompanying the prime minister during the visit.

During the visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will hold talks with President Erdoğan on various aspects of Pakistan–Türkiye relations.

The discussions will focus on expanding bilateral trade, investment, and economic cooperation. Regional peace, security, and other issues of mutual interest are also expected to be on the agenda.

The prime minister will also address a Pakistan-hosted business conference in Istanbul aimed at highlighting investment opportunities in Pakistan.

Key sectors to be showcased include Special Economic Zones (SEZs), energy, information technology, privatization, and other strategic industries.

Prominent Turkish business leaders, investors, senior government officials, and other distinguished guests are expected to attend the event.

The visit is expected to further strengthen Pakistan–Türkiye relations and expand cooperation in trade, investment, and regional affairs.
