Taraweeh to resume, Iftar tents to be banned in UAE in Ramadan
Muslims around the globe will be celebrating the month of Ramadan just...
Muslims in most Islamic countries are observing the first fast of Ramadan 2021. They offered the first Taraweeh last night.
Taraweeh prayers are the special prayers Muslims offer during the whole month of Ramadan. They recite Holy Quran in Taraweeh prayer. The prayer consists of 20 rakaats and is offered with Isha prayers.
Ramadan 2020 was full of tests, as people were not allowed to gather in large congregations. However, they will enjoy offering special prayers together this year, with safety measures.
Dr. Seif Al Dhaheri, the spokesperson for the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA), had earlier announced that Taraweeh prayers will be offered in Mosques in the UAE. Taraweeh prayer and Isha prayer have been covered at 30 minutes.
Dubai resident Fahad Siddiqui told the international news agency that it was indeed a blessing to once again get a chance to perform the Taraweeh prayers in a congregation inside a mosque.
“I missed praying Taraweeh sorely last year and was praying fervently to be able to do it once again, so I am really looking forward to praying it on all the days,” he said.
“This is a wake-up call for all Muslims that we must thank God for giving us this opportunity to experience this beautiful feeling of praying together and not miss it or take it for granted. This is also an opportunity for those who were not regular with their Taraweeh prayers to realize the value of these special prayers that we were deprived of last year due to the pandemic.”
