Friends of Princess Charlene & Prince Albert reject a shocking accusation

Prince Albert and Princess Charlene reconnected in March after months apart due to Charlene’s sickness, and the princess is not being paid to be with the Prince of Monaco, contrary to recent claims.

Friends of the royal couple have strongly refuted reports made by a French newspaper that Prince Albert was paying Charlene upwards of $12 million to appear with him at royal engagements, according to Page Six on Wednesday.

The accusation was made by the French journal Voici barely months after Charlene returned to Monaco after spending months in South Africa and Switzerland receiving treatment for an ENT infection that had worsened.

According to Page Six, a source close to the Princess said, “Of course she has a generous prenup, but Albert doesn’t have to pay her to stay.”

Added by the insider, “After being away for so long during her illness, Charlene is so happy to be back with Albert and the kids. They spend every weekend at their country place. Albert is fully supportive of Charlene and is also helping her with her charities.”

Some sources have previously been reported by French press as stating, “The Princess enjoys huge perks, but ready cash is not guaranteed. She’s been through a very difficult time, so it would make sense for Charlene to try and secure her own guaranteed income.”
