Monaco’s Prince Albert and his wife Princess Charlene have had a difficult year, with the princess missing for months due to an unknown sickness. However, the latest news appears to be weirder than her illness.
Princess Charlene, a former Olympic swimmer, is being paid a large fee to continue to accompany her husband Albert to royal events after returning to the kingdom in March following months of treatment for an ENT disease, according to The Daily Mail.
Prince Albert and Princess of Monaco have had a rough year, with Charlene absent for months owing to an undisclosed illness. The latest news, though, looks to be stranger than her condition.
According to The Daily Mail, Charlene, a former Olympic swimmer, is being paid a substantial sum to accompany her husband Albert to royal engagements after returning to the kingdom in March after months of treatment for an ENT ailment.
Insider also commented: “The Princess enjoys huge perks, but ready cash is not guaranteed. She’s been through a very difficult time, so it would make sense for Charlene to try and secure her own guaranteed income.”
This comes only weeks after Princess Charlene, Prince Albert, and their twins, Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella, visited the Formula E World Championship in Monaco.
