Charles Spencer finally speaks out about the Tiggy settlement
Earl Charles Spencer, a brother of Princess Diana, has spoken out about the BBC’s decision to compensate former royal nanny Tiggy Legge-Bourke for “significant damages.”
“While I’m glad to see that another innocent victim of this horrible tragedy is being vindicated, it’s amazing to me that no criminal charges have been levelled against those guilty, yet,” Charles wrote in a personal post on Twitter.
His passionate post comes after a court ordered the BBC to compensate Tiggy after the news organization exploited its ‘fabricated’ claims that she had an affair with Prince Charles to land Diana, Princess of Wales, on Panorama.
Tiggy filed a defamation lawsuit against the BBC for making “false and malicious” claims about her supposed liaison with the monarch in 1995, while she was serving as his personal assistant, in an effort to clear her name. On Thursday, the court was also informed about Tiggy’s bogus accusation of becoming pregnant with Charles’ child and aborting the child.
