Prince William and Kate Middleton walked the “green carpet” in London in October 2021 for the Earthshot environmental prize’s inaugural ceremony. Additionally, Earthshot 2022 will take place in the United States this year, with Boston serving as the ceremony’s host city.

A brief video depicting William describing preparations to bring the prize to Boston was used by Kensington Palace to break the news on social media. The Duke and Duchess’ itinerary has not yet been confirmed by the Palace, however T&C is aware that they will both be travelling to the United States and are anticipated to be present at the wedding.

Boston Mayor Michelle Wu stated today that the city was “proud and pleased” to host the honors, and the John F. Kennedy Library Foundation will act as host partners for the occasion. She stated, “In Boston, we’re not just working to strengthen Boston’s capacity to combat climate change—we’re also providing an example for how creative, community-driven climate leadership can alter what’s possible.
