In his new biography, royal author Christopher Andersen discussed a particular incident that he thinks the future king of Britain, King Charles, wishes he could change.

A royal biographer claims that King Charles III still regrets his one choice about his sons Prince William and Prince Harry.

The author of “The King: The Life of Charles III,” in an interview with Us Weekly, expressed his conviction that the king regrets having his two sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, procession behind Princess Diana’s coffin during her funeral. “I think it haunts him because it haunts them, and they’ve spoken about it.”

Anderson continued, “I’ve written that I believe it’s a form of PTSD.”

He believes that the Duke of Sussex, who left the royal service and resided in Montecito, California, with his wife Meghan Markle and their two children, Archie and Lilibet, still has anxiety upon entering London, possibly as a result of recollections of that particular day.

Prince Harry has reportedly remarked that being in London “reminds him of that day when he had to walk behind the coffin, and they were more or less bullied into doing it by the palace—by the men in gray who really run the palace, the people that Diana used to complain about.

“Diana’s brother, [Charles]…has also said that he felt that he was tricked into doing it and regrets it. He said it was like walking through a tunnel of grief.”

Prince William was just 15 years old when his mother passed away, and Prince Harry was only 12 years old. The two young royals also had to deal with their sadness in front of a large audience, which added to the tragedy of the situation.

“I think both William and Harry thought, ‘Who are these strangers who never met her?’” Anderson posited. “So they were angry about what had happened. And Charles, I think, understands that to some extent he was responsible for them having to suffer through [that].”
