Lord and Lady Frederick Windsor married at Hampton Court Palace in 2009, but afterwards relocated to California to allow Sophie to pursue her successful acting career.

You might recognise Sophie Winkleman from programmes like Two and a Half Men, Peep Show, Death in Paradise, Trust, This Is Going To Hurt, and Sanditon, but did you know she’s also a member of the Royal Family, frequently seen with The King and The Prince and Princess of Wales?

Sophie married Lord Frederick Windsor on September 12, 2009, at Hampton Court Palace in front of all the senior royals.

Following their wedding, the couple moved to California so Sophie could continue her acting career. Despite having returned to the UK permanently, Frederick and Sophie were notable as a royal couple who shared their time between the UK and abroad.

Sophie Lara Winkleman was born on August 5, 1980, in Primrose Hill, London, to Cindy Black and Barry Winkleman. She is the half-sister of Claudia Winkleman, the host of Strictly Come Dancing and Traitors.

Lady Frederick Windsor, as she is officially known, has previously joined the Royal Family on Buckingham Palace’s balcony and is frequently seen at major events. She recently attended the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations and, three months later, her funeral.
