It has been revealed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Archewell Foundation has raised $13 million and distributed $3 million to charitable causes.

The couple’s charitable foundation, which was established after they stepped down from their royal roles, has released a 24-page report detailing the causes that have benefited from money donated since the foundation’s inception in 2020, including Covid vaccines and Afghan refugees.

Cash was also donated to the World Central Kitchen and a project to build a playground in Uvalde, Texas, where a gunman killed 19 children and two teachers in a school last year.

It comes amid a staff shake-up at the couple’s Archewell organization, with two key staff members announcing their resignation.

The Archewell Foundation’s “impact report” contains no accounts or figures indicating how much money was donated to charities and organizations.

‘The Sussexes’ Archewell Foundation has released its 2020-22 ‘Impact Report,’ according to Omid Scobie, a favourite journalist of Harry and Meghan.

“In their first year of operation, they raised $ 13million and distributed $3million in grants across areas including vaccine equity, relief centres, refugee resettlement, and building better online world.”

According to the report, Archewell, named after Harry and Meghan’s son Archie, assisted in the procurement of 12.66 million Covid vaccines for people all over the world through its partnership with Global Citizen.

It also claims to have assisted nearly 8,000 people in fleeing Afghanistan following the Taliban takeover in the summer of 2021 and to have served 50,000 meals through the World Central Kitchen in the aftermath of climate disasters in Puerto Rico and Dominica.

The foundation also collaborated with the City of Uvalde and Kaboom to create a children’s play area. Meghan visited the city in the days following the massacre to lay flowers and pay tribute to the victims.

Meanwhile, according to the report, Archwell has helped fund 13 academic fellows to “address society’s most pressing concerns about social media” at Harvard’s Institute for Rebooting Social Media.
