William expressed his sorrow at having papers implicating him in Megxit during one of their last conversations before Harry left for America.

In his memoir “Spare,” Harry describes the discussion in detail. He said, “The press was a big part of why we’d come to this crisis—their business model demanded that we be in constant conflict—but they weren’t the only culprits. I looked at Willy.
