The first state visit of King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla to France and Germany will take place from March 26th to March 31st, 2023.
The visit will commemorate the United Kingdom’s relationship with France and Germany, highlighting shared histories, culture, and values.
Buckingham Palace has released the full itinerary for the King and Queen Consort’s visit.
They will visit France from Sunday, March 26th to Wednesday, March 29th, with engagements in Paris and Bordeaux on Tuesday, March 28th. Among the highlights of their French programme will be:
The King and Queen Consort will join President and Mrs. Macron at the Arc de Triomphe for a ceremony of remembrance and wreath laying.
At the French Senate, King Charles will address Senators and members of the National Assembly.
Camilla and Mrs. Macron will jointly inaugurate the new Manet and Degas exhibition at the Musée d’Orsay.
The British royals will be honoured guests at President and Mrs. Macron’s State Banquet at the Chateau de Versailles.
The King will see firsthand the devastation caused by last summer’s wildfires on the outskirts of Bordeaux, and will hear about their experiences from emergency workers and the local community.
They will attend the official opening of the British Consulate in Bordeaux and meet with members of the local French and British communities.
The Royal couple will arrive in Berlin on March 29th. They will perform in Berlin and Brandenburg on Thursday, March 30th, before travelling to Hamburg on Friday, March 31st.

Camilla will visit the Komische Oper in Berlin, accompanied by Frau Büdenbender, to learn more about the opera company’s outreach projects and community engagement.
His Majesty will meet representatives from a joint German/UK military unit in Brandenburg and witness a demonstration of their bridge-building amphibious vehicles.
