Saboor Aly is a Pakistani actress and model. She is known for her work in Pakistani television dramas.

She is the younger sister of another popular Pakistani actress, Sajal Aly. Both sisters have gained recognition and praise for their performances in various television dramas.

In the recent episode of the ongoing drama series “Mannat Murad” on Geo TV, a wedding scene has sparked controversy.

The scene gained attention due to the bride wearing an outfit that was an exact copy of actor Saboor Aly’s real-life wedding dress.

Saboor took to Instagram on Wednesday night to share her dissatisfaction with the situation. She raised questions about how she should feel when her vision and moment, which held memories and sentiments, were replicated without her consent.

Aly’s wedding outfit, meticulously designed by Faiza Saqlain, was a heartfelt tribute to her late mother, closely mirroring the attire her mother wore on her own wedding day.

The traditional ensemble, distinguished by a champagne base and intricate handmade embellishments, received widespread acclaim on social media when Aly donned it for her wedding.

Remarkably, the creators of Mannat Murad didn’t just draw inspiration from the dress; they went so far as to replicate nearly every aspect of its design. This striking similarity has caught the attention of viewers, leading to discussions and comparisons.

Social media critics argue that the drama production team’s recreation of Aly’s wedding dress raises ethical concerns, as it was done without obtaining proper permission from her, as revealed in her story.

On the other hand, some argue that the dress, being a designer’s creation, is open for replication by anyone, and the entire situation is not a significant issue.

Aziz, writer Nida Akhtar, and director Syed Wajahat Hussain have not made any comments on the situation.

Designer Faiza Saqlain addressed the controversy on Thursday afternoon. In a statement shared on her personal Instagram account, Saqlain emphasized that suggesting colors and incorporating minor details does not grant the bride “copyright” over the creation.

She emphasized that the outline and quality of craftsmanship are not groundbreaking, stating that the dress represents a timeless design that many brides have embraced in the past.

The designer expressed confusion over the controversy, stating that this specific attire is a genuine creation of FS Bridal, and they have every right to sell it or engage in further collaborations with it.
