Waseem Badami reveals why he concealed his surname and recounts blunders with colleagues
Waseem Badami, a renowned Pakistani television host, and newsperson, has dedicated around fifteen years of service to a private news channel. Famous for hosting shows such as 11th Hour, Har Lamha Purjosh, and Shaan E Ramzan, Waseem Badami has recently been in the news for his Ramadan transmission “Shan E Ramzan.” He stirred public attention and faced backlash for inviting the viral vlogger Shiraz to his Ramadan transmission. Recently, Waseem Badami disclosed in an interview with Metatainment that he had concealed his surname from colleagues.
He said, “I was quite conscious about sharing my surname with my class fellows because it was way too weird for me, I used to think my class fellows would make fun of my name, I hid my surname till seventh grade, after joining news, I didn’t want to reveal my surname but then my father did my counseling about it, now, I share it proudly”.
Waseem Badami also mentioned that learning from his blunders or mistakes helps keep him grounded.
According to him, “The blunders make you realize that nothing is in your control. It is a reminder from Allah’s side that our little mistake is enough to ruin our fame. I think these mistakes are good for life”.
