The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced today that the departure of Shoaib Malik in England has been delayed until the second week of August.

India extended the ban on international flights until 31 July, thus disrupting Malik ‘s scheduled family reunion.

When Malik joins the T20I series squad, which begins at Manchester on 28 August, a player will be released by the team management.

It should be mentioned that the PCB granted the 38-year-old a special dispensation by allowing him to join the squad on 24 July.

Malik’s wife, tennis star Sania Mirza, and one-year-old son Izhaan Mirza Malik have been in India, while Pakistani cricketer has spent the last few months in Sialkot following the global COVID-19 pandemic due to foreign travel prohibitions.

Malik was previously involved in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) which began on February 20 before being suspended on March 17.
