Pak vs Ind: PCB told to ‘be prepared’ for bilateral series
The bilateral cricket relations between Pakistan and India will soon resume, both...
Indian skipper and star batsman Virat Kohli said the players in the team should be consulted before scheduling any cricket series so that they can survive the challenging Covid-19 times.
As per reports, the star batsmen said players have no control in deciding the cricket fixtures throughout the year.
He further added to his statement that,
“The players need to be spoken to and consulted with all-round,”
“Otherwise it’s going to be a case of whoever can last through difficult times like this plays, if not then move away and someone else replaces that player.
I don’t think that’s healthy for a cricket system and cricket culture moving forward which we definitely want to make stronger and stronger.”
He said proper attention should give to the player’s mental well-being.
“I think it’s very important to consider how much cricket you are playing. It’s not just the physical side of things but the mental side of things as well,” Kohli said, adding that scheduling and workloads are something that everyone will have to be very aware of “especially in today’s day and age.”
