Ajax technical manager Gerry Hamstra claims that the club has done “all necessary” to keep Manchester United managing target Erik ten Hag at the club.

Man Utd. are close to finalizing Ten Hag’s appointment on a three-year contract.

On Sunday, Ajax was defeated 2-1 by PSV Eindhoven in the Dutch Cup final.

Ten Hag was not anticipated to be named United’s new manager until after the final on Sunday.

Ten Hag’s side leads the Eredivisie by four points over PSV and is chasing his third Dutch league title.

“It’s natural that there will be curiosity in Erik ten Hag. He’s done an incredible job,” Hamstra remarked earlier in the day on Sunday.

“Everything we could do to retain him at Ajax was done.”

“We were quite preoccupied with that.” He said that he is currently concentrating on Ajax. “We’re preparing for two possibilities: Ten Hag might stay or depart.”

Ryan Gravenberch scored from outside the area to give Ajax the lead in the Dutch Cup final after 23 minutes.

However, VAR reversed a goal by Noussair Mazraoui before Erick Gutierrez and Cody Gakpo scored for PSV in the opening three minutes of the second half.
