Joe Salisbury of the United Kingdom along with his US partner Rajeev Ram maintained their world number one doubles title by winning at the Monte Carlo Masters.

Number one ranked thrashed Colombian doubles team of Juan-Sebastian Cabal and Robert Farah by 6-4 3-6 10-7.

Salisbury displayed a stunning performance at the net with the aid of Ram’s strong serving and volleying.

The doubles won their first clay title as a team.

They were in the lead in the first set, but the Colombian double created pressure during the second set.

In the match tie-break, both players played superb tennis, with Ram and Salisbury taking the lead after breaking the Colombians twice.

In a suspenseful finish, Ram stuttered on championship point but calmed down to win on their third try.

Salisbury and Ram are the top seeds at the Barcelona Open.
