Despite West Ham’s draw, Man City holds title

Manchester City earned a point at West Ham after coming back from two goals down for the first time under Pep Guardiola.

Five minutes from time, they had a chance to win it, but Lukasz Fabianski saved Riyad Mahrez’s penalty after Craig Dawson fouled Gabriel Jesus.

Guardiola was visibly upset by this. However, given their predicament at the break, with Liverpool potentially having a chance to catch them when they play on Tuesday, the visitors’ ultimate result was positive.

For the first time in club history, West Ham has qualified for European football by virtue of their league position in consecutive seasons.
