World No 1 Iga Swiatek required only 61 minutes to beat Alison Riske and progress into the third round of the French Open.

The 6-0 6-2 triumph stretches out Swiatek’s series of wins out to 30 matches and keeps on featuring why so many are foreseeing her to bring home a subsequent French Open championship this year.

Since taking over from Ash Barty as the world No 1, Swiatek has taken her tennis to another level and against Riske, the 2020 French Open boss, she ruled each feature of the match.

Swiatek hit 23 champs to only six from Riske and she changed over five of the nine break focuses she made.

“I’m really cheerful,” Swiatek said on court later.

“I’m simply glad that I’m playing truly strong tennis and I think this is my most memorable singles match on Court Suzanne-Lenglen so it was a delight playing here and thank you [to the fans] for cheering.

Swiatek entered the court very engaged and flew from the starting position. She dominated the initial nine matches before Riske got on the board, and, surprisingly, that game went to deuce.

“It’s been something I’ve been dealing with since I began,” Swiatek said about the center she has ahead of schedule in matches.

“Simply being engaged and needing to come down on my adversary is truly useful as it implies that I have the drive all along and can truly lead on court.

“It isn’t so much that simple before each match since you need to get siphoned up and in the zone, yet I’m getting endlessly better at it.”

Swiatek will presently have a vacation day prior to confronting the world No 95 Danka Kovinic in the third round on Saturday.
