Bayer Leverkusen have signed Sparta Prague’s talented teenage striker Adam Hlozek on a five-year deal, the Czech club confirmed on Thursday.

Leverkusen, third in the Bundesliga this season, are set to pay 18 million euros ($19.3m) plus an additional nine million in bonuses to bring the 19-year-old to Germany, the Czech daily Sport reported.

“It’s time to say goodbye and move on. Thank you all,” Hlozek said in a message to fans on Twitter.

Hlozek scored 34 goals in 105 top flight games for Sparta. He became the youngest scorer in the Czech league at the age of 16 years and seven months in 2019 and the the youngest player to score a hat-trick in the domestic top division aged 18 years and nine months.

In the 2020/2021 season, he became the league’s top scorer with 15 goals in 19 games.

Hlozek, who will be joining his Czech Republic teammate Patrik Schick at Bayer, has scored one goal in 14 games for the national team.
