  • England’s Ian Poulter says he will pursue his suspension from the PGA Tour for playing in the Saudi-supported LIV Golf Invitational Series.
  • The breakaway circuit has deeply impacted the game, with any semblance of Phil Mickelson and Dustin Johnson missing.

Poulter was among 17 golf players endorsed by the U.S.- based Tour soon after play started off at LIV Golf’s debut occasion outside London.

“I will request sure. It has neither rhyme nor reason,” the previous world number five said in the wake of checking a five-more than 75 in the initial round at Centurion Club.

“Having two Tour cards and the capacity to play golf everywhere, what’s up with that?

“I didn’t leave my participation since I don’t feel I misunderstand done anything. I have played all around the world for quite some time. This is the same … it’s a battle for control and it’s simply frustrating.”

In a letter shipped off individuals by PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan, the people who join the rewarding breakaway series won’t be allowed to play on the circuit as a non-part by means of a support exception or some other qualification classification.

LIV Golf is bankrolled by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) and is offering prize cash worth $255 million across eight occasions.

Previous U.S Open boss Graeme McDowell uncovered that he had hesitantly left the PGA Tour 30 minutes prior to jump starting on Thursday while past Masters champ Sergio Garcia said he was “not irritated” by the suspension.
