Islamic Solidarity Games: Mishal Ayub reaches 100m breaststroke final
On Monday, during the women’s swimming competition at the Islamic Solidarity Games, Mishal Ayub from Pakistan qualified for the final of the 100-meter breaststroke event.
The Islamic Solidarity Games are now being held in the city of Konya, which is located in Turkey.
In the preliminary heats, Mishal Ayub ran a time of 1:24.12 seconds and placed ninth overall.
Tonight at eight o’clock, the conclusion of the women’s 100-meter breaststroke race will take place.
According to the TRT World website, the Islamic Solidarity Games that began on August 9 will run through August 18 this year. There are a total of 355 medals up for grabs, and at least 4,000 athletes from 56 different Muslim nations are fighting for them over 24 different events.
Before being held in Turkey, the Games had previously been held in Azerbaijan (2013), Iran (2010), Saudi Arabia (2005), and Indonesia (2013). (2017). However, due to a disagreement between Iran and Saudi Arabia, the edition that was scheduled to take place in Tehran had to be cancelled.
