Pakistan all-rounder Iftikhar Ahmed stated Wednesday that skipper Babar Azam and coaching staff’s post-match pep-talk
Pakistan all-rounder Iftikhar Ahmed stated Wednesday that skipper Babar Azam and coaching staff’s post-match pep-talk after the loss to India boosted the team’s confidence and spirits ahead of their second T20 World Cup encounter.
Iftikhar told journalists that Pakistan can’t be complacent against Zimbabwe before Thursday’s match in Perth.
“They are an international team and we will take them like any other international side, we will give our 100% against them,” he said.
Iftikhar struck a half-century against India on Sunday but Pakistan lost the thriller on the final ball. The all-rounder acknowledged losing hurts.
“When you lose, you’re obviously hurt, but the way Babar Azam spoke to us after the game has lifted everyone’s confidence and we are looking forward to the next game,” he remarked.
The all-rounder stated he fulfils his position and tries to help the team win regardless of how many balls he faces.
He added that everyone in the middle order wants to score runs for the team.
Iftikhar is working hard to develop his sweep and reverse sweep shots for Australian conditions.
Iftikhar said he welcomes criticism. “Nothing I can say.”
He remarked that every player has their unique batting style and he cannot advise others.
“Everyone has his own style, own shoots, one can’t tell them what they’ve had to adopt,” he stated when asked what he would tell colleagues.
