In a press release, the ICC stated that Yadav, “perhaps not happy with the 239 runs he scored during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, finished as the leading run-scorer throughout India’s recent T20I series in New Zealand with a total of 124 runs.” Yadav was only dismissed once during this series.
“During the second game of the series in Mount Maunganui, Yadav hit a superb unbeaten 111, and after his innings at Bay Oval, the 32-year-old moved to a career-high rating of 895 points,” it was noted.
The top 10 T20I bowlers were, however, unchanged this week, despite Bhuvneshwar Kumar of India moving up two ranks to 11th and Tim Southee of New Zealand moving up two spaces to tie for 14th.
