Babar urges Haris to finish contests at T20 World Cup 2022
Captain Babar Azam stated he wants batter Mohammad Haris to finish matches for the national team after Pakistan secured a spot in the T20 World Cup 2022 semifinals on Sunday.
In order to defeat Bangladesh by five wickets and go to the World Cup’s last four, the Men in Green needed Haris to score a crucial 31 runs off only 18 balls.
Babar praised the team’s effort in the post-game locker room conversation but advised the wicket-keeper batter to finish games since it will increase the batter’s self-confidence.
Apart from these minor issues, the performance was excellent, the 28-year-old said. “Whatever happens, we have to give our 100 percent. We played as a team in the last two matches and we have to continue doing that.
Harry [Mohammad Haris], you are playing outstandingly, but finishing the match [on a high note] will boost your confidence level. As our seniors told us, if you finish the game, you will play differently.

Pakistan’s superb bowling allowed them to restrict Bangladesh to just 128 runs in 20 overs. The highest score for Bangladesh has been recorded by batsman Najmul Hossain Shanto, who has a half-century. Popular Pakistani speed bowler Shaheen Afridi claimed four wickets for 22 runs.
Pakistan reached the target in 18.1 overs thanks to Young Haris’ important 31-run performance. Pakistan’s openers, Babar and Mohammad Rizwan, scored 25 and 32 runs, respectively.
Prior to it, the Netherlands defeated a strong South African team, increasing Pakistan’s prospects of making it to the World Cup semifinals.
Due to a strong batting and bowling effort, the European team scored 158 runs before limiting the Proteas to 145 runs.
Haris, who took over for Fakhar Zaman in the last match against South Africa on Thursday, received a ton of plaudits from the cricket community for his aggressive style, something Pakistan needed.
In just 11 balls, he scored 28 runs, including two boundaries and three maximums.
Virender Sehwag, a former Indian batter, praised the youngster and said that he may push Pakistan’s Babar and Rizwan to move down the order and grab the first spot.
On Wednesday, November 9, at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG), Pakistan will play New Zealand in the second semifinal match of the T20 World Cup 2022.
