Iftikhar Ahmed, a right-handed batsman for Pakistan, recorded the tournament’s largest six.

Ahmed stunned the cricketing world with his incredible batting in Australian conditions, hitting a “monster” shot of 106 metres.

Ahmed, who had claimed before the competition that hitting sixes in Australia was not “a huge issue,” showed his mettle during the most recent match between Pakistan and South Africa.

When the 32-year-old hitter received a short ball from Lungi Ngidi in the 16th over, he demonstrated incredible strength and finesse by hitting the biggest six of the competition so yet, covering 106 metres.

David Miller of South Africa had previously held the record for the competition with a six of 104 metres during the team’s match against India last Sunday. With this hit, Ahmed shattered Miller’s mark.

Fans were astounded by his outstanding performance and praised him on social media.

A someone on social media brought up Ahmed’s claim about hitting sixes in Australia, stating that he had demonstrated his talent with the “gigantic six.”

Another social media user noted that many had “underestimated” the batter and referred to him as a “true middle-order classic batsman.”

“You make jokes that he is old he can’t hit big, he smashed the biggest six of the tournament.”

After the shot, an Indian sports journalist announced the record on Twitter and referred to Ahmed as a “legend.”

Ahmed’s “back-to-back good collaborations,” according to a Twitter user, who called his shot a “super hit.”

Many laughed at the 32-year-old batter when he said that he would hit sixes in Australia because of how poorly he had played in the Asian and UAE conditions.
