On Sunday, Netherlands shocked South Africa by defeating them by a score of 13 runs to eliminate the Proteas from the T20 World Cup as they once again failed in a major ICC tournament.

After being given the opportunity to bat, the Netherlands put in a team effort to register a respectable 158 for 4, and they subsequently held the Proteas to 145 for 8, giving them their biggest cricket victory ever. It was the Dutch team’s first victory over South Africa in any format.

After losing to Netherlands by 13 runs in their T20 World Cup 2022 match on Sunday at Adelaide Oval, South Africa’s chances of making the semifinals were destroyed. South Africa was held to 145 for eight in 20 overs when chasing a target of 159 runs, with Brandon Glover claiming three wickets for the Netherlands.

Bas de Leede and Fred Klaassen each claimed two wickets in the meanwhile. South Africa’s top scorer was Rilee Rossouw, who hit 25 runs off 19 balls. At first, Colin Ackermann was in excellent form and scored an unbroken 41 runs off 26 balls to help his team reach 158 for four in 20 overs.

Three fours and two sixes were also part of Ackermann’s unbeaten innings. Stephan Myburgh, who bats first, also played a significant innings, scoring 37 runs off 30 balls, including seven fours. For South Africa, Keshav Maharaj claimed two wickets.
