Mohammad Rizwan, a wicketkeeper and batsman for Pakistan, talked about how the thumping win against India in the 2021 T20 World Cup in the UAE made him feel.
It was the first time in a long time that the green shirts beat their archrivals in a World Cup. After that big game, Rizwan felt better about himself as a batter.
He said that after he won, he didn’t have to pay for anything in stores and was treated like a big star everywhere he went.

Pakistan won the most important match of the Super 12 stage by 10 wickets. Babar Azam and Rizwan put together an unbeaten 152-run partnership that broke a 29-year World Cup record.
“When we won against India, that time, I thought it was only a match for me. It was because we won that game easily. But when I came to Pakistan, I realized how much it meant. Whenever I went to a shop, they won’t take money from me. They would say, ‘you go, you go. I won’t take money from you!'” Rizwan told Sky Sports Cricket’s Mike Atherton in an interview.
“People would say, ‘everything is free for you here. This is the love from all of Pakistan after that match,” he said.

Rizwan was named the ICC T20I Player of the Year, and he was the best batter in the ICC T20I rankings.
The 30-year-old is an important part of the Pakistan team and has helped improve their overall performance in a big way.
