Najam Sethi, the chairman of the management committee for the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), has declared that he will visit Bahrain on February 4 to meet with representatives of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC).

Sethi said he will represent Pakistan at the ACC’s upcoming meeting in Bahrain and will present the country’s position on hosting the Asia Cup later this year during a press conference on Monday in Lahore.

“Finally, we have a meeting with ACC executives scheduled. On February 4, I will attend the ACC summit in Bahrain. I’m not sure about our posture right now; I’ll make a decision in the meeting while keeping an eye on the issue “He stated.

Sethi was scheduled to meet with ACC officials during his recent visit to Dubai for the India-backed International League T20 (ILT20) opening ceremony on January 13. According to reports, Sethi did not get the opportunity to speak with ACC officials on the sidelines.

Ramiz Raja, a former chairman of the PCB, had said that if Pakistan pulled out of hosting the Asia Cup, they would not travel to India. The announcement came after ACC president (and BCCI general secretary) Jay Shah stated last year that India had already chosen not to compete in the Asian event in Pakistan.

The BCCI or ACC have not formally validated Shah’s statement.
