Shan Masood unhappy with his performance in Test series
Shan Masood, Pakistan’s vice-captain for one-day internationals, has expressed dissatisfaction with his performance following a poor showing in the Test series against England and New Zealand.
In the three Test matches he played against the two teams, Shan was not at his best because he was repeatedly dismissed by spin.
The left-handed batter acknowledged in an exclusive interview with Private source that his performance was lacking but promised to improve moving forward.
“I’m not happy with how I performed in the Test series against England and New Zealand. Several times, my shot selection was poor. I accept responsibility for any mistakes I make. If I am named to the Test squad again, I will try something new, but I will not change my playing style. Minor errors will be corrected as soon as possible “Shan stated.
Shan scored 122 runs in six innings of play.
The batter has been named vice-captain of Pakistan’s one-day international team for the New Zealand series. He last played an ODI against Australia in 2019 and will be making his return to white-ball cricket after nearly four years.
“The role of vice-captain is extremely important in the team. If I don’t make the list of the best available players, I won’t be in the starting lineup “He stated.
“I am a professional player who has never expressed dissatisfaction with any of my roles. In both T20 and Test cricket, I have adjusted my position. All of this is part of the game. The effort is that whenever an opportunity presents itself, I try to provide good results for the team.” he continued
